Our final stop of the day was Tripoli which is Lebanon's second largest city and one of its oldest, dating back to the Phoenicians. The city is made up of 80% Sunni Muslims and definitely reminded me a lot of Syria. We were running short on time and energy so we did a driving tour of the old city, starting with the castle (which houses the army now) and the main souk street. We drove through about an hour before iftar so we saw a lot of people out and about.
